Natural Gas: Knowing Its Pros and Cons

natural gasThere’s a great demand for using natural gas in the market today. Consumers have been needing it for their businesses, to fuel their vehicles, to use for cooking and a lot more. No doubt that the need for natural gas transportation is increasing as well because of these reasons. Natural gas is not just an environment-friendly element, but it is considered an economical way to help some of the industries to prosper with their purpose and to meet everyone’s need. But on the other hand, natural has its disadvantages too. This wonder gas, no matter how useful and important it is in our daily lives, there can be perils of using it as well.

Ready, Get Set, Gas!

As the market is in combat with the sky rising fuel cost and the environmental pressures to reduce harmful emissions, the demand increases that even smaller markets are looking for CNG Transporting. More an more people have recognized the value of compressed natural gas. They have realized how it is better than any other sources of power and energy.

Different Methods of Transporting Natural Gas

CNG ShippingYou have to keep in mind that natural gas could not be extracted anywhere. Unlike some other common gases, they can just be collected easily. They can be found anywhere.

Where does natural gas come from?

Don’t confuse yourself with the other meanings of the word ‘gas’. When you ran out of fuel in your car, you drive to the nearest gas station and ‘gas’ your car tank. This isn’t the ‘gas’ we are talking about. Instead, this is the type of gas formed with nature. As dead animals, gases, and even dead plants are buried into the ground, the elements by nature combine with it. Moreover, the heat and pressure compressed these fossils turning it into a different unique kind of gas. Gas from nature where it is safe for the environment, not to mention it is economical as well. This gave reasons for most people to prefer this kind of gas over the other.
People can’t just dig into the ground and collect the gas. Certain companies have equipment to extract the gas and transport it to the market in need.

This is one of the most common method of transporting natural gas to the market and meet its needs. Although there are some consumers who prefer to have these natural gas vehicle conversion kits, these pipelines and connected from the source transporting the natural gas to the market. Along the process, these pipes have switches wherewith the pipe would open when the gas is ready to be transported and compressed to push its way to the consumer’s doorstep. (more…)

Natural Gas Markets: Current Situation and Supply

natural gas suppliesNatural gas is one of the most important fossil fuels in the world – it is delivered worldwide to countries who need them through CNG transport ships. The ever rising demand has to be met nowadays, especially with the rising tensions between Russia and Ukraine, which is backed by most countries due to the latter’s invasion and seizure of the Crimean peninsula. Although the new Ukrainian government is standing down, the aspects surrounding natural gas will become volatile in the weeks to come.

Current world supply leaders

The top five leading suppliers of natural gas in the world the United States, Russia, Canada, Iran and Qatar. Note that #1 and #2 are not exactly in good terms right now, due to the Crimean crisis while #4 has always hated the west, while #3 and #5 are good friends with #1, with the latter hosting three American military bases. Here are some characteristics about USA, Russia and Canada. (more…)

Natural Gas vs Other Fuels: A Comparison

natural gas signThere are over hundreds – possibly thousands – of natural gas transportation ships around the world, attesting to the fact that the fossil fuel has certainly garnered the attention of a lot of oil and fuel firms around the world. Like other fuels, it is capable of powering machines like electrical appliances, cars, generators and stoves. That said, how does it fare compared to other types of fossil fuel? Well, let’s cut to the chase and learn what we all need to know:

Natural gas vs liquefied petroleum gas (LPG)

Natural gas transportation ships do not transport LPG. Why? Well, that’s because LPG is different from natural gas, contrary to a lot of people may believe. Natural gas is mainly composed of lighter gases, namely ethane and methane while LPG is composed of heavier ones like propane and butane. These have different combustion characteristics, meaning one cannot simply be substituted for another. Liquefied petroleum gas is commonly being used in stoves around the world, although it is also powering ones in the United States. (more…)

Pros And Cons On Gas Powered Vehicles

Gas Powered VehiclesIt may seem complex yet interesting looking at natural gas transportation ships carrying tons of gas ready to be delivered across the ocean. Keep in mind that the number of consumers using gas has greatly increased. It has been used in homes, industries, and even to vehicles. Yes, you may not notice on these unique cars running on the streets. They are no longer powered by fuel yet this time, these motor vehicles are powered by the natural gas. Most motorists may refer to this as an alternative fuel. Just as with the other alternative fuels in running your car, it can also bring its benefits and its drawbacks. (more…)

The Wonders of Transporting Natural Gas

The regional market has the need of these natural gas transportation systems. Over the years, there have been a lot of uses of natural gas. This is considered to be a very useful product. The Chinese has discovered this as a tool converted to energy which is used to heat water. Natural Gas has many uses that 24% of the total energy in the United States has been consumed. It can be used in a common household, industries and even in the transportation sector. Therefore, we shall discuss in this article the art of transporting natural gas to the different regional market.

Compressed Natural Gas (CNG): A Closer Look to the Definition

CNG BenefitsA natural gas is used as a fuel for vehicles; however, before hitting the road it needs to be compressed first. This is where compressed natural gas comes in. As its name suggests, natural gas is its original state. In order for it to fit in a fuel tank manageably, this natural gas has to be liquefied or compressed. When it comes to gas compression, there are various ways on how to do it. One of the most common ways is to compress natural gas is with the use of a diaphragm processor. This kind of processor has a series of different chambers, wherein each has a specifically designed membrane. The gas is being pumped into the first chamber, where the gas volume condenses. When it is already full, it will empty the gas into the other, which is a smaller engine that will continue to condense the gas. This process will be continued until the desired pressure is reached. The result product is non-toxic, lighter than air, inflammable, and odorless.

CNG Fuel Tank

The natural gas is being compressed into a cylindrical container installed in the car trunk or in the other available spaces in a vehicle. Just like when the car refills a gas, natural gas is also pumped into the vehicle that passes through a line which is then compressed and stored. There are many refilling stations for CNG in the world; however, there are those who preferred to install one at their house. This is connected to their personal gas lines and allows to fuel conveniently.
